Delphi: Escape to the Earth’s Hive!

The city of Delphi is the focal point of global cultural interest. Delphi is at the foot of Mount Parnassus and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The place is connected to the famous oracle of Delphi, the institution of Amphiction and the sanctuary of Apollo. The most important sights of great archaeological interest are the Temple of Apollo, the ancient theater of Delphi, the Tholos of Athena Pronaia and the archaeological museum of the area.

The legend says the god Zeus left two eagles, one to the East and one to the West. They met in Delphi and so the area became the center of the world.

The famous Oracle of Delphi experienced great prosperity from the 6th to the 4th centuriy BC and its reputation has reached the end of the world. Its oracles were given from the mouth of Pythia, which was the priestess of the oracle and was interpreted by the priests of Apollo. The archaeological site of Delphi is located in an imposing natural landscape between two large rocks, ‘the Fedriades.’ The landscape is calm and it is no coincidence that it has been for many centuries a religious and spiritual center as well as a symbol of unity. Today Delphi accepts thousands of foreign and Greek visitors every year. Apart from the archaeological site, you will be amazed by the spectacular view of the unique natural landscape and the hospitality of the residents. They have excellent tourist facilities as well as restaurants, taverns, bars where you can enjoy your food or drink, combined with the magnificent view offered you by the shores of the Peloponnese.
